Demo snapshot release, and site & build updates

Hi everyone,

Today marks a special day, as the project now has a Demo Snapshot to try out for free! It includes everything the game has up to this point, and works just as the regular (paid) release. The only difference is that this version will not be updated from this point forward: It is just a snapshot of the current build (of June 9th 2025), to give you an insight what the game is all about and what potentials it has. This also means that it is not a Vertical Slice (meaning, offering all the mechanics), nor a full demo that you would expect (has a beginning and an end), as it is just another live build (you can read more about it on the main page under Notice). You can grab the demo from the main page as well! Hoping that this will give you a better understanding of what this project stands for.

And let's talk about updates

  • The main page has been edited, and now includes a bit more information about the game and the developer.
  • The two versions of the game, Paid and Demo, are the same at the moment. As mentioned, the Demo will not be updated further.

Changes in the build

  • The breakdown mechanics didn't go away when the engine caught on fire. That has been fixed.
  • Some of the levers on the main control panel has been disabled for now, as I'm working on bringing those to life (like adding SFX to those). Currently, only the top left one works from the vertical ones, labelled "Dynamo" (a simple tool to boost battery charging for a short period of time), and only gives a special sound if the engine is running. The logic behind it works, but only partially. That will be completed for the next update.
  • Apparently, the options for keyboard shortcuts were messed up at some point, and some due to a missing symbol didn't work at all (as in you couldn't rebind them). This has been fixed, as well as the option to Quick Load/Save has been added. Didn't think it was that necessary to implement, as a Quality of Life measurement, but after mis-clicking the Save/Load buttons for so many times now (whilst testing), the feature couldn't wait any longer. The default shortcuts are F5 and F6.

Have attached a few shots as well:
